  • Work with the Council and staff to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions; define and execute appropriate strategies to support them

  • Coordinate, or execute as needed, all copy intended for public consumption to ensure its alignment with the strategic communications plan

  • Coordinate the creation, production, dissemination and maintenance of printed and electronic publications (such as monthly newsletter, annual report, brochures, exhibition and event postcards, etc…)

  • Determine proper internal channels to use when distributing certain communications

  • Support the development and execution of identity and collateral materials for major organizational initiatives

  • Collaboratively manage and coordinate creation and update of web-content; responsible for content-related protocols to keep web site up-to-date

  • Ongoing evaluation of effectiveness on all communications, including e-communications, for Tribal Citizens and general public

  • Provide organization-wide communication, including e-communications support; manage all databases

  • Actively monitor MBPI’s online reputation

  • Manage database, collect data and report Tribal accomplishments to a variety of audiences including citizens of all ages

  • Respond to inquiries about Tribal events and maintain positive business relationships with Tribal citizens, and employees

  • Facilitate the development of departmental strategic plans and updates to such plans

  • Develop and administer the department’s budget to ensure proper allocation of funds for citizens, staff, supplies and equipment
